The name Kincora (Caenn Cora) is derived from the home of Brian Boru, one of Ireland's greatest leaders in directing the Country's future.
Born in 940 A.D., Brian Boru's influence helped unite the Celtic people throughout Ireland. For this reason, he was given the title - “High King” – the first and last to ever have this honor.
At a time of war against the Norsemen (Vikings), Boru worked relentlessly to rebuild his ravaged kingdom. It earned him the reputation as a great builder.
In 1002 A.D., King Boru built his Royal residence and named it Caenn Cora.
During the middle ages, stone towers (called prospecting towers), were an important element of the Irish architecture. These towers acted as lookouts and sentinels over the local residents, protecting them from invaders and guiding them home.
Today, the towers of Kincora Ridge continue to serve, welcoming residents to a safe and peaceful haven.
